Within this area many strange fish can be found, such as the eerie Abyssal and the huge, elusive Dragon. With Cat Goes Fishing, the name says it all. On the seafloor lies the disused entrance of a nuclear silo which also acts as a sonar jammer, and the surrounding waters are heavily irradiated to the point that certain fish are becoming mutated. The Silo is a deep area of open water that lies beyond the coral basin. Without light, and with the risk of snapping a line on the rocky walls of the Caverns, navigating this area requires the use of a Lightbulb lure or reliance on deep sonar. Within these caves lurk reclusive fish that never venture up into the sunlight, such as the Thresher and Cavefish. To navigate the Depths, or reach the Caverns below, a Lightbulb lure is almost essential.īelow the seafloor, an extensive network of caves stretches across the map. The Depths is the deep underwater region of the map, where the water turns dark and there is no light except for the glow of Lumina, Bulbfish and Anglerfish. To the left of the reef itself, a shallow basin opens into the coral reef caves. It is separated from the open ocean by a tall undersea cliff, the reef wall. The Coral Reef is an area filled with rare and diverse varieties of fish not seen closer to shore, such as the Clownfish, Dire Trillow and Josie. It contains a large number of rarer, more colourful fish, but also several species of fish found in the Bay such as Seraphs and Grumpers. The open ocean is the region directly east of the Bay. It is the westernmost section of the map, and contains mostly common, easy-to-catch fish such as the Cuddlefish, Mustardfish and Cowfish. The Bay is the area closest to shore, where the player begins the game.
